Compact unidirectional microphone kit

The Padcaster Mini Unidirectional Microphone Kit is an electret condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern that focuses on sound directly in front of it while rejecting off-axis noise. It draws power from the connected device so no batteries are required and its aluminium body keeps weight low. The kit targets mobile journalists, streamers and content creators who need clear dialogue capture on cameras, smartphones, audio recorders or PCs.

Dual cables and mounting accessories

Two output cables are supplied: a 3.5 mm TRS plug for cameras and recorders and a 3.5 mm TRRS plug for smartphones and tablets. A shock mount isolates the capsule from handling vibration and a thick fuzzy windscreen cuts wind noise during outdoor shoots. A draw-string bag holds the microphone, cables and mounts together for quick deployment in the field.

Handles speech and ambient capture

The cardioid capsule comfortably records interviews, voice-overs and piece-to-camera dialogue in quiet to moderately noisy locations. The windscreen extends usable conditions into breezy outdoor environments without audible gust distortion. Very loud sources such as live music or industrial machinery will exceed the microphone's headroom and cause clipping. Users needing stereo ambience or long-distance pickup should consider a different microphone type.
