Compact 4K 60p camcorder for directors

The Panasonic HC-X2100 is a lightweight professional camcorder built for directors who need portability and 4K 60p recording. It offers up to 4 hours and 35 minutes of shooting time on a high-capacity battery. The compact body balances well for extended handheld use in the field.

Suited for mobile filmmakers.

This camcorder suits solo operators and documentary crews who value a wide 25 mm angle and 24x optical zoom in a small form factor. It is less suited for productions that require built-in ND filters, dual card slots or full-size XLR audio inputs without accessories.

200 Mbps 4K 10-bit with 120 fps slow motion

The recorder captures 4K 59.94p/50p at 200 Mbps using HEVC 10-bit 4:2:0 MOV, giving ample headroom for grading. Super slow motion reaches 120 fps in Full HD with 10-bit depth. Recording limits appear at higher frame rates or when storage bandwidth cannot sustain the bit rate.

Questions about this item

What type of memory card do I need for the 200 Mbps 4K recording mode?

The camcorder accepts SDXC cards rated UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) or Video Speed Class V60 and above to sustain 200 Mbps LongGOP 10-bit 4:2:0 HEVC recording without dropped frames.

Can I use my existing Full HD monitors with the 4K 60p output?

Yes, the HDMI terminal outputs 4K 60p as well as down-converted 1080p, so current Full HD monitors and recorders will display the signal without extra conversion hardware.

How can I verify the Hybrid O.I.S. is active during handheld shooting?

The 3.5-inch LCD shows a stabilisation icon when Hybrid O.I.S. is engaged, and the on-screen level gauge remains steady while the Ball O.I.S. system corrects micro-jitter in five axes.
