Full-frame 24.2MP mirrorless camera for filmmakers

The Panasonic Lumix DC-S1 combines a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with the pre-installed Filmmaker Upgrade software key. It targets video professionals and advanced creators who need Netflix-certified recording capability and Dual Native ISO performance. The body delivers 14-stop dynamic range and supports 6K 24p as well as 5.9K 30p capture.

Check lens mount and recording media before ordering

This body uses the L-mount system, so existing lenses must match that bayonet or be adapted. Dual SD card slots are provided; verify you have UHS-II cards fast enough for 10-bit 6K workflows. The upgrade key unlocks features in-camera, so no separate licence server or dongle is required.

Thermals and power in normal use

The magnesium-alloy chassis dissipates heat during extended 6K recording sessions without a built-in fan. Battery life varies with codec and monitor brightness; carry spares for full-day shoots. Operational noise stays minimal because there is no active cooling, keeping audio tracks clean during quiet scenes.
