Compact Power-Zoom for Micro Four Thirds

The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Power OIS is a retractable zoom lens built for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Its motorised power zoom and silent focus drive suit both stills and video work. The 14-42mm range gives a 28-84mm equivalent field of view on a 35mm sensor. Optical image stabilisation helps keep handheld shots steady in lower light.

Mount and Filter Compatibility

Verify that your camera uses the Micro Four Thirds mount before ordering. The lens accepts 37mm front filters, so check any existing filter collection for that thread size. Power zoom operation draws power from the camera body; confirm your model supports the function through its menu or dedicated switch. The 0.34x maximum magnification limits close-up detail capture.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The lens has no internal fan and runs silently during autofocus and zoom transitions. Optical stabilisation and the stepping motor draw modest current from the camera battery, with no measurable heat build-up during extended video clips. Retractable barrel design keeps the unit compact when powered off, reducing bag bulk without thermal penalty.
