Full-frame 24.2-megapixel mirrorless kit

The Panasonic LUMIX S5II pairs a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with the compact Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. It targets photographers and video creators who need high-resolution stills and advanced video features in a portable system. The combination suits hybrid shooters moving between disciplines.

Straightforward setup with lens attachment

Mount the supplied lens to the L-mount bayonet and the camera is ready to shoot. The kit includes a single zoom covering wide-angle to short telephoto, so buyers who want more reach or wider coverage must add further lenses. No additional configuration steps are required for basic operation.

Video recording limited by codec and heat design

Internal capture reaches 6K at 30 fps using 10-bit 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 LongGOP in H.265 or H.264. The 14-stop V-Log dynamic range and unlimited recording time rely on the built-in heat dispersion system. Users needing raw output or higher frame rates at 6K must use external recorders.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the phase hybrid autofocus and 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 stabilization are working correctly after setup?

Enable the focus-area display and watch the green frames lock on a moving subject; then shoot a handheld clip at 60 fps and confirm the footage stays steady without a tripod.

What comes in the box with the LUMIX S5II kit and what must I buy separately?

The kit includes the camera body and the Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 lens; you will need to add an SD card, spare battery and charger for full operation.

Should I choose the 24.2-megapixel full-frame version or a different sensor option?

This kit only offers the 24.2-megapixel 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor, so there is no alternative capacity to select.
