Rugged convertible for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 is a fully rugged 10.1-inch convertible laptop built to MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards. It withstands drops, vibration, dust and water jets while weighing around five pounds. A sunlight-viewable LED touchscreen reaches 6000 nit brightness for outdoor readability. Integrated Verizon 4G LTE and GPS keep mobile teams connected and located in remote areas.

Upgrade from standard business laptops

This unit replaces consumer-grade notebooks that cannot survive harsh handling or direct sunlight. The jump is worth it when work takes you onto construction sites, into vehicles or onto docks where rain, dust and shock are daily hazards. Standard plastic chassis and dim indoor screens fail in those conditions. The magnesium alloy case and sealed ports keep the system running where ordinary hardware would stop.

Limits of the XGA touchscreen and DDR3 platform

The 1024 x 768 XGA resolution limits on-screen detail for modern web apps or detailed schematics. Single-core processor performance restricts multitasking with current software loads. DDR3 800 memory and a mechanical 500 GB drive cap system responsiveness compared to solid-state platforms. Wireless LAN tops out at 802.11n speeds, so crowded spectrum environments may see reduced throughput.
