Fully Rugged Laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 is a new fully rugged laptop built for field professionals who require MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 certified durability. It integrates a 13.1-inch sunlight-viewable XGA touch display with a digitizer pen for precise input in outdoor conditions. Windows 10 Pro provides a familiar enterprise operating environment.

Capacity and Headroom

The system pairs a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 single-core processor with 8GB of DDR3 800 memory configured as 4GB x 2. A 256GB SSD handles the operating system and core applications with solid-state responsiveness. The 1024 x 768 resolution panel suits legacy software and data entry but limits modern multitasking workspace and media viewing.

Single-Core Processor Constraint

The single-core processor architecture determines whether this unit fits the workload; it handles sequential tasks and legacy applications adequately but cannot execute parallel threads efficiently. Buyers who need multi-threaded performance for contemporary workloads should consider alternative platforms. Gigabit LAN and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless provide standard connectivity options.

Questions about this item

Will the 10/100/1000Mbps LAN port connect reliably to a 10/100 switch I still use?

Yes, the Gigabit Ethernet port auto-negotiates down to 10 or 100Mbps, so it works with older switches without any configuration.

How can I verify the touchscreen and digitizer pen are functioning correctly after first boot?

Open the Windows calibration tool, tap the cross-hairs with the included pen, and confirm the cursor follows precisely across the 1024 x 768 XGA panel.

Does the package contain the digitizer pen and power adapter, or must I order them separately?

Both the digitizer pen and a compatible power adapter are included in the box; no extra accessories are required for basic operation.
