Built for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 MK6 is a fully rugged laptop designed for professionals who operate in harsh environments. Its magnesium alloy chassis and integrated handle provide certified protection against drops, vibration, and extreme temperatures. A 13.1 inch sunlight-readable XGA touchscreen remains visible in direct daylight, supporting gloved operation. The system suits field engineers, emergency responders, and military personnel who need reliable mobile computing.

Thermals and power in use

The Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor runs at 2.80 GHz with a 3.90 GHz turbo frequency and 4 MB smart cache. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory for visual output. The low-power CPU architecture and 32 GB of DDR4 memory allow sustained performance without excessive heat buildup. Fan noise stays controlled during typical workloads, and the efficient platform supports extended battery operation in the field.

Connectivity and daily logistics

A comprehensive port array includes one USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, serial, audio jacks, and an SDXC card slot. Built-in 4G LTE and dedicated GPS provide reliable positioning and data links wherever the job goes. A contactless smart card reader enables secure authentication on site. The Nano-SIM slot and backlit keyboard support round-the-clock operation in low-light conditions.

Questions about this item

How do I install the nano-SIM for the 4G LTE on the CF-31 MK6, and which way does the tray go in?

Open the side cover, place the nano-SIM into the tray with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned, then slide the tray fully home until it clicks.

What maintenance or replacement will the CF-31 MK6 need later?

The internal CMOS battery will eventually need replacement to keep BIOS settings, and the SSD can be swapped via the removable drive bay if capacity or speed demands change.

What limit shows up first on the CF-31 MK6 during sustained heavy workloads?

The dual-core i7-7600U hits its thermal ceiling before the 32 GB DDR4 or 1 TB SSD become bottlenecks, causing clock speeds to drop from the 3.90 GHz turbo toward the 2.80 GHz base.
