1/64 Scale Diecast M988 Utility Vehicle

This 1/64 scale diecast model replicates the M988 4×4 utility vehicle fitted with a grenade launcher in Desert Sand Gulf War 1990 markings. It is built for adult collectors and military-history enthusiasts who value accurate, limited-edition miniatures. The model arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging with a protective display case included.

Metal Construction and Display Durability

The body uses diecast metal with some plastic parts to give a heavy, realistic feel while keeping fine details intact. Pad-printed markings and placards resist fading or peeling better than traditional decals. The supplied plastic showcase shields the model from dust and handling, preserving its pristine condition over time.

Detailed Features for Diorama Builders

Posable wheels, an opening hood and an opening top hatch allow flexible positioning in static displays or dioramas. The approximately 2.75-inch length fits compact shelves without dominating a scene. Buyers who need larger scales, motorised functions or multiple vehicles for convoy layouts will not find those options in this single-vehicle release.

Questions about this item

How do I open the hood and top hatch on this 1/64 scale M988 without snapping the tiny hinges?

Grip the model by its solid diecast chassis, then use a fingertip to lift each panel gently; the hinges are moulded into the metal so they hold position once opened.

Will the pad-printed markings on this Gulf War 1990 Military Police version wear off if I handle the model regularly?

The markings are pad printed directly onto the diecast and plastic surfaces, so they resist fading and peeling far better than traditional decals.

What is the first display limitation I will hit if I keep this 2.75 inch model in the included showcase long term?

The clear plastic showcase protects against dust and handling, but prolonged direct sunlight can still fade the desert sand paint over years.
