1U Rackmount Firewall Appliance

The Partaker R11-I5 3320M-New-8G512G is a new 19-inch 1U rackmount firewall appliance powered by an Intel Core i5 3320M processor. It ships with 8GB DDR3 memory and a 512GB mSATA SSD installed. Six Intel Gigabit LAN ports provide wired connectivity at 10/100/1000 Mbps. The unit includes a 100W power supply and mounting brackets for rack or wall installation.

Deployment Scenarios

This appliance suits administrators deploying open-source firewall platforms such as pfSense, OPNsense or Untangle on FreeBSD or Linux. AES-NI support accelerates VPN workloads. Buyers who need more than six LAN interfaces or require 10 Gigabit throughput should look at a different model. The single SODIMM slot limits memory expansion to the fitted 8GB capacity.

Throughput Specification

The critical specification is the tested LAN-to-WAN forwarding throughput of 1000 Mbps through the six Intel 82583V/82574L controllers. This figure determines whether the appliance can saturate a gigabit WAN link under full load.
