Rackmount firewall with i7-3770

The Partaker R9 is a 19-inch 1U cabinet appliance built around an Intel Core i7-3770 processor and the Intel B75 chipset. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 512 GB mSATA SSD, plus a 150 W power supply. Six Intel Gigabit LAN ports, VGA, two USB ports and a console port provide the physical connectivity needed for gateway or edge deployments.

Bypass set and multi-OS support

A hardware bypass set keeps one LAN pair linked even if the system loses power or hangs, preserving the network path during maintenance. The platform runs FreeBSD-based router distributions such as pfSense, OPNsense and Untangle, along with standard Linux or Windows installations, so administrators can choose their preferred firewall software without hardware lock-in.

1 Gbps throughput ceiling

Forwarding traffic through the six Gigabit NICs tops out at 1000 Mbps, which suits small-office internet links, branch VPN concentrators or segmented VLAN routing. The two SODIMM slots accept up to 32 GB of DDR3 for larger state tables, while a single 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive bay adds bulk storage for logs or caches; beyond 1 Gbps line rate the appliance becomes the bottleneck.

Questions about this item

When will the DDR3 SODIMM memory or the mSATA SSD need replacement?

The board accepts two DDR3 SODIMM slots up to 32 GB total and one mSATA SSD; both are user-replaceable when capacity or speed demands grow.

What throughput ceiling appears first during continuous 1 Gbps routing?

The six Intel Gigabit controllers and 1 Gbps WAN-to-LAN forwarding rate set the hard limit at 1000 Mbps sustained.

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the 150 W supply in a 1U rack all day?

A ball-bearing turbo fan cools the Core i7-3770 and 150 W PSU inside the 430 x 270 x 50 mm chassis for continuous low-noise operation.
