18 x 16 Inch Reclosable Poly Bags

These transparent polyethylene bags measure 18 inches long by 16 inches wide with a 3 mil wall thickness. They are sold as a pack of 100 for shipping, mailing or general storage tasks. The reclosable seal allows repeated opening and closing without tape or heat equipment.

Reclosable Seal for Repeated Access

The built-in closure lets users open and reseal each bag many times, removing the need for separate tape, ties or a heat sealer. This speeds up packing lines where items are inspected, counted or repacked before final dispatch. The clear film also makes contents visible for quick identification.

Practical Limits of 3 Mil Polyethylene

At 3 mil thickness the material resists punctures and tears during normal handling but is not rated for heavy, sharp or abrasive loads. The seal relies on finger pressure and can loosen if the bag is overfilled or exposed to vibration. Users needing tamper-evident security or long-term archival protection should consider heavier gauge or heat-seal alternatives.

Questions about this item

Will the zip-seal on these 3 mil poly bags wear out and need replacement after repeated opening and closing?

The reclosable zipper is integral to each bag; if the seal degrades the entire bag is replaced rather than repairing the closure.

At what point does the 3 mil thickness become the limiting factor when the bags are stuffed and handled continuously?

The 3 mil polyethylene wall will puncture or tear before the zipper fails if contents exceed the material's tear resistance during sustained heavy loading.

Do the bags generate static or heat build-up when packed tightly and stored all day in a shipping area?

Standard polyethylene does not generate noticeable heat; static cling can occur in dry conditions but is not a thermal concern for all-day storage.
