Design and comfort

The Pentel AL17C Champ mechanical pencil uses a 0.70 mm lead size for clear lines. A soft, latex-free Comfort Zone grip supports long writing sessions without fatigue. The fixed sleeve and stationary tip keep the lead stable while you write. A top-click advance mechanism feeds lead with one hand.

Best for everyday writing

Students and office workers who want a reliable refillable pencil for notes and forms will appreciate the large eraser and pocket clip. The barrel colour helps identify the pencil in a shared drawer. Buyers who prefer a retractable tip to protect pockets should consider a different style. Artists who need variable line weights may want a pencil with interchangeable lead sizes.

Lead diameter determines fit

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 0.70 mm lead diameter. Only Pentel Super Hi-Polymer lead in this exact width will feed correctly. The PDE-1 large refill eraser is the matching replacement when the original wears out.
