Industrial Wire Dimensions

Phifer 3004131 vinyl coated polyester wire measures 96 in wide by 100 ft long with a .025 in wire diameter. The black mesh uses a 17 x 10 configuration rated for medium mesh size range. Suitable for screen replacement and industrial fabric projects.

Mesh Size and Airflow

The 17 x 10 mesh density balances insect exclusion with visibility and airflow for doors and windows. Vinyl coating protects the polyester core from moisture and UV exposure. This construction resists sagging and maintains shape across the full 100 ft roll.

Coverage Capacity and Limits

A single roll covers up to 96 in wide openings across 100 ft of length for large screening jobs. Not intended for structural reinforcement or high-tension barrier applications. Buyers needing finer mesh for smaller insects or heavier wire for security screening should select a different specification.

Questions about this item

How often does the 0.025 in vinyl-coated polyester wire need replacement under normal exposure?

The vinyl coating protects the polyester core from UV and moisture, so the screen typically lasts several years before the coating wears thin enough to require replacement.

What fails first on a 96 in wide roll when it is tensioned continuously across a large opening?

The 17 x 10 mesh distributes load evenly, but the 0.025 in wire diameter reaches its elongation limit before the vinyl coating or the polyester yarns break.

Does the black 100 ft roll absorb enough heat to soften the vinyl coating during all-day sun?

The black finish increases surface temperature, yet the vinyl formulation is rated for continuous outdoor exposure without softening at typical ambient highs.
