Philips Hue Gradient Lightstrip 55 Inch

The Philips Hue Play gradient lightstrip model 560409 adds reactive multicolour bias lighting to 55 to 60 inch televisions. It blends white and coloured light across a single 85.20 inch strip that mounts to wall-mounted or standing sets. A Hue Bridge and Hue Sync box are required for operation. The unit draws 20 watts from a 100 to 120 volt supply with a 0.5 watt standby draw.

Ideal For Immersive TV Lighting

This strip suits viewers who want screen-matched colour effects that extend across the whole display width. It is not for buyers who need a cuttable or extendable lightstrip, nor for installations that must run without a Hue Bridge and Sync box. Outdoor or weatherproof use is not supported. Bluetooth-only control is not available on this model.

Requires Hue Bridge And Sync Box

The single specification that decides compatibility is the mandatory Hue Bridge plus Hue Sync box combination. Without both devices the lightstrip cannot receive colour data or sync to screen content. The strip operates at 2000 to 6500 kelvin and 5 to 95 percent non-condensing humidity. Dimensions are 0.63 by 0.67 by 85.20 inches.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 55 inch gradient lightstrip or the regular Lightstrip Plus for my TV?

The 560409 gradient model is designed for 55 to 60 inch TVs and shows multiple colours at once, while the Lightstrip Plus is single-colour, cuttable and extendable but not made for TV mounting.

What does the 20 W rating mean for daily use on my television?

The strip draws up to 20 watts when displaying full brightness colour, and only 0.5 watts in standby, so the impact on your electricity bill is minimal.

Does the lightstrip connect directly to Wi-Fi or do I need the Hue Bridge and Sync Box?

This gradient Play strip requires both a Philips Hue Bridge and a Hue Sync Box to work; it cannot connect directly to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on its own.
