Dual-band WiFi antenna for desktop

This omnidirectional antenna operates on 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands and supports wifi 6 alongside earlier 802.11 standards. It connects to PCI PCIe cards, built-in motherboard WiFi, USB adapters, routers, access points and security cameras. The 6.5 ft cable lets you position the antenna away from the chassis for clearer reception. Buyers who need a directional high-gain array for long-distance links will not be served by this omnidirectional design.

RP-SMA connector compatibility decides fit

The antenna terminates in an RP-SMA plug, so the host device must provide a matching RP-SMA jack. Verify the connector on your wireless card, router or motherboard before purchase; SMA or other thread types will not mate. No adapter is included in the package.

Magnetic base and cable length manage placement

A strong magnetic base holds the antenna vertically on any steel surface such as a case side panel or rack cabinet. The 6.5 ft extension cable allows routing away from heat sources and other electronics that could raise noise floor. The passive antenna draws no power and adds no audible noise to the system.

Questions about this item

What does the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz dual-band support mean for my connection?

The antenna operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequencies, letting your Wi-Fi 6 router or card choose the clearer band for faster throughput and fewer drops when many devices are active.

How does the RP-SMA interface limit what I can plug this into?

The RP-SMA male connector fits the external antenna ports found on most PCIe Wi-Fi cards, USB adapters, routers and access points; it will not mate with standard SMA or U.FL ports without an adapter.

What does the magnetic base need to mount securely?

The base uses a strong magnet that holds vertically on any flat steel surface such as a server rack upright, a metal PC case side panel or a steel desk leg.
