Dual-band 2.4 and 5.8 GHz antennas with magnetic-base RP-SMA connectors extend wireless range to dead spots
This dual-band antenna operates at 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz and connects through a gold-plated RP-SMA screw-on swivel connector. It is designed for server racks and cabinets where wireless routers, USB adapters, PCI or PCIe cards, access points or range extenders need stronger coverage. The magnetic base allows quick mounting on any ferrous surface inside the rack.
The antenna is a passive component so it draws no power and generates no heat or noise during operation. Signal gain is rated at 6 dBi for each frequency band, improving link quality without adding active circuitry. Because there are no moving parts or electronics, thermal management and acoustic impact are not concerns in the rack environment.
Two RP-SMA female antennas are supplied, each with a gold-plated swivel joint that lets you orient the element for best reception. The magnetic base holds the assembly firmly to steel rack rails or cabinet walls without tools or drilling. This mounting method suits temporary test setups and permanent installations alike while keeping cabling tidy.

Screw each gold-plated RP-SMA connector onto the device's RP-SMA jack, then place the magnetic base on a flat ferrous surface; tilting the swivel so the antenna points horizontally instead of vertically reduces the 6 dBi gain pattern.
The RP-SMA centre pin can loosen after repeated screw-on cycles, causing intermittent signal; if range drops back to the original dead-spot level, replace the antenna pair.
Passive antennas have no thermal or power limit; sustained use is only constrained by the connected radio's duty cycle, not by the antenna itself.
