Marine Gauge Receiver & 6.5" Speakers

The Planet Audio PGR35B bundle pairs a mech-less digital media receiver with a pair of MB Quart NK2-116W 6.5-inch two-way coaxial speakers. The receiver handles AM/FM radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, MP3 and WMA playback from USB drives, and auxiliary input for phones or MP3 players. The speakers use water-resistant midrange cones, titanium tweeters and rust-resistant connectors, rated at 120 W peak and 60 W RMS each with 87.7 dB sensitivity at 4 ohms.

Check 12 V Power & Mounting Space

Verify that your boat, RV or off-road vehicle supplies a 12-volt electrical system for the receiver and speakers. Confirm the dashboard cut-out matches a standard gauge-size opening for the PGR35B head unit. Ensure there is sufficient depth behind the panel for the receiver chassis and that the 6.5-inch speaker locations can accommodate the supplied grilles and wiring harnesses.

IPX6 Rating & Pre-Amp Outputs

The receiver carries an IPX6 waterproof rating, meaning it withstands powerful water jets during wash-downs or rough conditions. Front and rear/sub pre-amp outputs let you add external amplifiers or a subwoofer without splicing speaker-level wires. A USB port provides device charging while a USB drive or aux cable supplies playback, and Bluetooth lets you stream and control music apps directly from a smartphone.

Questions about this item

Does the PGR35B bundle include the MB Quart NK2-116W speakers and grilles, or must they be purchased separately?

The bundle ships with the PGR35B receiver and a pair of MB Quart NK2-116W 6.5" 2-way coaxial speakers with white grilles included.

Should I choose the 120 W peak or 60 W RMS figure when matching an amplifier to the NK2-116W speakers?

Use the 60 W RMS rating for amplifier matching; the 120 W peak value only represents short-term maximum handling.

What does the 87.7 dB sensitivity rating mean for volume on the water with the PGR35B's built-in amplifier?

At 87.7 dB sensitivity, the speakers produce moderate volume from the receiver's internal power; adding an external amp will raise output cleanly.
