Product Identity

The Planet Audio PHP32 is a pair of two-channel infrared cordless headphones finished in black. They are built for listeners who want wireless stereo sound from monitors or DVD players that have built-in IR audio transmitters.

Suitability

These headphones suit viewers who already own IR-equipped displays and prefer an over-the-head fit with a dedicated volume knob. They are not for users whose source devices lack infrared transmitters, nor for anyone needing Bluetooth, radio-frequency or wired connectivity options.

Bundle Impact

The package supplies only the headphones themselves, so no extra cables, transmitters or software are included. Buyers must provide a compatible IR audio source to hear anything, and the single volume control on the earcup is the sole adjustment available.

Questions about this item

Does the PHP32 headset require the monitor or DVD player to have a built-in infrared audio transmitter?

Yes, the headphones are designed for use with monitors and DVD players that include an infrared audio transmitter.

Will the PHP32 work with an older DVD player that only has analogue audio outputs and no infrared transmitter?

No, the headset receives audio via infrared and needs a source equipped with an IR audio transmitter.

How can I confirm the headphones are receiving a stereo infrared signal after pairing them with the transmitter?

Turn the volume knob on the earcup; audible stereo sound from both earcups indicates the infrared link is active.
