24-Port Gigabit PoE+ Injector Hub

The PLANET HPOE-2400G is a 24-port mid-span power sourcing equipment unit designed for managed network deployments. It delivers data and power over 24 Gigabit RJ45 output ports while accepting data on 24 corresponding input ports. The unit complies with IEEE 802.3at and IEEE 802.3af standards and provides a total PoE budget of 720 watts.

Rack Integration and Power Delivery

The hub requires a standard 100-240V AC supply drawing up to 12 amps and dissipates up to 719 watts as heat, cooled by three internal fans. A dedicated 10/100/1000BASE-T management port with auto-negotiation allows out-of-band configuration. Each output port supplies up to 30.8 watts on pins 4/5 and 7/8, supporting up to 24 Class 3 or Class 4 powered devices simultaneously.

Suitable Deployments and Limitations

This injector hub suits installers powering up to 24 PoE+ devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras from a single non-PoE switch. It is not intended for networks requiring fewer than 24 powered ports where a smaller mid-span unit would be more economical. Buyers needing end-span PoE switching with integrated data-plane features should evaluate managed PoE switches instead.

Questions about this item

How many 802.3at devices can run at full 30.8-watt output before the 720-watt PoE budget is reached?

The 720-watt budget supports 24 ports at 30.8 watts each, so all 24 ports can deliver full PoE+ power simultaneously.

What is the maximum power draw and heat output when the hub is fully loaded?

Maximum power consumption is 800 watts, producing 2453 BTU per hour, with three internal fans for cooling.

What management connection does the hub require for configuration and monitoring?

A single 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 management port with auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX is provided for network management.
