Gigabit PoE extension device

The PLANET POE-E201 is a compact extender that forwards Gigabit Ethernet data and IEEE 802.3at or 802.3af power over standard copper cabling. It requires no external power supply and draws energy directly from the PoE source. The unit is wall-mountable and operates on a plug-and-play basis.

Installers needing runs beyond 100 metres

Network technicians who must place powered devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras further than the standard 100-metre Ethernet limit can chain multiple extenders to reach 200, 300, 400 or 500 metres. Sites that already have a local mains outlet at the remote end do not need this device.

Maximum 26-watt power delivery

The extender outputs up to 26 watts at 52 V DC on pins 4/5 and 7/8, so the connected device must operate within that power budget. Equipment requiring more than 26 watts cannot be powered through this unit.

Questions about this item

How many PLANET POE-E201 extenders can be daisy-chained before the 26 W output drops below what a powered device needs?

Each extender forwards up to 26 W at 52 V DC, 510 mA; cable loss between units determines the practical chain length, so test the final device voltage under load.

At what cable distance does the 10/100/1000Base-T link become the limiting factor instead of the 26 W PoE budget?

The extender repeats Gigabit data up to 100 m per segment; total reach can reach 500 m with multiple units, but data errors will appear first if any segment exceeds 100 m.

Does the POE-E201 generate noticeable heat or fan noise when passing 26 W continuously in a wall-mounted enclosure?

The unit has no fan and draws power only from the PoE line; heat equals the conversion loss on up to 26 W, so surface temperature stays low in free air.
