DVD-R discs with water-resistant printable surface

This pack contains fifty DVD-R discs, each offering 4.7GB capacity and rated for 16X write speed. The glossy white surface uses a Liquid Defense Plus coating that resists water, scratches and fading. It is compatible with all common inkjet disc printers for full-colour labelling.

Suitable for archiving and labelled distribution

These discs suit users who need durable, printable media for data backup, video projects or software distribution where the label must survive handling and moisture. They are not suited for rewritable use, for drives limited to slower write speeds, or for buyers who require a smaller quantity than fifty.

16X write speed rating

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 16X maximum write speed; the host drive must support DVD-R recording at this rate to achieve the rated performance.

Questions about this item

Does my DVD writer need to support 16X recording speed for these discs?

These DVD-R blanks are rated for up to 16X write speed. Your drive must support DVD-R recording; it will automatically select the highest compatible speed.

Can I add these 4.7GB DVD-R discs to an archive that already contains older 4.7GB DVD-R media?

Yes. Both use the same DVD-R format and 4.7GB capacity, so drives and players that read the older discs will read these as well.

How can I verify the Liquid Defense Plus coating is working after I print and burn a disc?

Print a test pattern with an inkjet printer, let it dry, then splash a few drops of water on the surface — the ink should not smear or run.
