Plugable Technologies USBC-DP USB-C to DisplayPort Cable 6 ft 4K 60Hz

SKU CH-ME86-7V0PC

A 6 ft cable connects USB-C devices to DisplayPort monitors at up to 4K 60Hz

  • Cable length6 ft (1.83 m)
  • Product typeUSB-C to DisplayPort Adapters
  • Connect a DisplayPort monitor via USB-C
  • 3840x2160 at 60 Hz for sharp 4K visuals
  • Driverless plug-and-play on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux
  • Works with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts
  • 8 metre cable length for flexible desk setup

Direct GPU Connection

This 6 ft cable links a USB-C or Thunderbolt port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode straight to a DisplayPort monitor. It delivers video and audio up to 3840x2160 at 60 Hz without any driver installation on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS or Linux. The link uses the host graphics processor directly so the external display performs like a native output.

4K 60 Hz Headroom

The cable handles 4K resolution at 60 Hz for video editing, photo work and gaming, provided the host GPU is powerful enough for those tasks. It runs out of bandwidth beyond 3840x2160 at 60 Hz, so higher refresh rates or 5K and 8K panels are not supported. Systems without Alt Mode video output cannot use the adapter at all.

Plug-and-Play Simplicity

Driverless operation means the display is recognised immediately on any supported 2017 or 2018 MacBook, iMac, MacBook Pro, 2018+ iPad Pro, Dell XPS, Surface Book 2 or HP Spectre x360 with Thunderbolt. The iPad Pro is limited to mirroring mode only. No software bundles or configuration utilities are included or required.

Questions about this item

Will this cable work with my older Dell XPS that has a USB-C port but no Thunderbolt?

It requires a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode; Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports also work, but a plain USB-C port without Alt Mode will not drive the display.

How can I verify the cable is delivering 4K at 60 Hz after I plug it in?

Open your OS display settings and confirm the external monitor shows 3840x2160 at 60 Hz; the cable is passive, so the host GPU determines the actual output.

Does the package include a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter or must I buy one separately?

The box contains only the 6 ft USB-C to DisplayPort cable; any DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter or other converter is a separate purchase.
