12 Gauge 15 FT Outdoor Cord

The PLUGTUL 12 gauge outdoor extension cord is 15 FT long and rated for 125 volts AC at 15 amps and 1875 watts. It uses an SJTW jacket and carries an ETL listing. The cord has a NEMA 5-15P male plug and a NEMA 5-15R female connector with a lighted end that shows when power is present. A hook-and-loop strap is included for storage.

Suited For Outdoor Power Tools

This cord suits users running lawn equipment, holiday lights or power tools that draw up to 15 amps at this length. The weather-resistant PVC jacket handles rain, sunlight and abrasion, and the anti-slip texture on the female end improves grip. Buyers who need a longer reach than 15 FT or a higher current rating than 15 amps should look at a different specification.

12 AWG Cross-Section 3.31 mm²

The conductor cross-section is approximately 3.31 mm², which determines the safe current capacity at 15 FT. Match this gauge to the amperage and distance your application requires. The cord weighs 2.48 pounds and measures 14.09 by 5.08 by 2.17 inches in its package.

Questions about this item

Does the 12 gauge cord stay cool when I run a 15 A tool all day?

The 12 AWG conductors are rated for 15 A and 1875 W at 125 V, so the cord handles continuous full-load current without overheating.

What outlet and plug types do I already need to use this cord?

Both ends are NEMA 5-15, so you need a standard Type B wall outlet and a matching Type B plug on your tool or appliance.

Will the lighted female end work with my older grounded tools that have worn plugs?

The anti-slip texture on the female connector improves grip on worn NEMA 5-15 plugs, and the light simply shows power is present.
