Polycom Trio Expansion Microphone Kit

The Polycom 2200-65790-001 adds extra microphones to a RealPresence Trio system for larger meeting spaces. It is intended for organisations that need wider voice capture during conference calls. The kit is brand new and carries a one-year warranty. Buyers who want a standalone speakerphone or a different brand ecosystem cannot use this accessory.

20-foot pickup range under sustained load

Each expansion microphone extends the pickup range to 20 feet from the base unit. In continuous meetings the microphones maintain consistent sensitivity across the full radius without a drop-off at the edge. The hardware is designed for the 2200-66070-001 and 7200-23450-001 Trio models only. Systems that require more than the supported microphone count or a longer cable run are not served by this kit.

Passive thermals and no extra power draw

The microphones draw power directly from the Trio base so no separate supply is needed. They have no fans or active cooling, so they add zero audible noise to the room. Normal use produces no measurable heat increase at the conference table. Installations that need rack-mounted audio processors or external amplifiers fall outside this product's scope.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 2200-65790-001 draw when it runs all day?

The expansion microphones are passive devices that draw no power of their own; they operate entirely from the RealPresence Trio base unit.

Which specific Trio models must I already own for the 2200-65790-001 to work?

The kit is compatible only with the RealPresence Trio 2200-66070-001 and 7200-23450-001.

Will the 2200-65790-001 work alongside my older Polycom conference phones?

No, these microphones connect exclusively to the two Trio models listed above and are not supported on legacy SoundStation or HDX systems.
