Precision 44125 Shim Stock for Electricians

The PRECISION 44125 is a green polyester shim sheet measuring 5 inches by 20 inches with a .003 inch thickness. It suits electricians and technicians who need non-conductive spacing material for precise alignment tasks.

Replaces Improvised Plastic Spacers

This sheet replaces makeshift shims cut from generic plastic stock that lack consistent .003 inch gauge control. The jump is worth it when a +/-5 percent thickness tolerance and +/- .0625 inch dimensional accuracy are required for reliable fits.

Fits Tool Bags and Panel Work

The 5 by 20 inch sheet stores flat in a standard tool pouch and cuts cleanly with shears for custom fitments. It frees up time otherwise spent layering tape or filing metal shims to achieve the same gap.

Questions about this item

Will the .003 inch thick 5 inch wide sheet fit my motor air-gap slot?

The shim stock is .003 inches thick and 5 inches wide with a +/- .0625 inch width tolerance, so measure your slot against those dimensions.

How do I install the 20 inch long polyester shim without tearing it?

Cut the 20 inch length to size with sharp scissors or a utility knife, then slide the piece into place; the common mistake is forcing it and creasing the .003 inch material.

When should I replace the green shim stock after exposure to heat?

The polyester tolerates -90 to 300 degrees F; replace the shim if it discolours, becomes brittle or no longer compresses to 1 percent of its original thickness.
