Pro Star USB CD Player for Kia EV6

This external CD player connects directly to the USB port in 2019 to 2026 Kia EV6 models. It adds disc playback to vehicles that no longer include a built-in CD drive. The unit draws power from the same USB connection so no extra wiring is required. Installation uses the supplied printed instructions and takes only a few minutes.

CarPlay integration via factory USB port

The device plugs into the car's existing USB socket and communicates through the Apple CarPlay interface already present in the infotainment system. Music from the CD is then controlled using the factory radio buttons or steering-wheel controls. No additional adapters, software updates or specialist tools are needed for this connection.

Two-minute disc indexing before playback

Each new disc must complete an indexing cycle that lasts approximately two minutes before tracks become selectable. Interrupting this process requires restarting the full installation sequence with a different disc. Once indexed the player operates reliably during extended drives without further delays.

Questions about this item

How does the USB-powered CD player work once plugged into the Kia EV6?

The unit draws power from the vehicle's USB port and indexes each disc for about two minutes before the factory radio or steering-wheel controls can browse and play the tracks.

What does the USB connection actually carry between the drive and the car?

The single cable supplies power to the mechanism and transfers the audio data to the head unit for playback through CarPlay.

Where can the drive be positioned in the EV6 cabin?

It can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the supplied cable reaches the USB port.
