Pro Star CarPlay USB CD Player 2019-2026 Kia Sorento receiver

External CD Player for Kia Sorento

The Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Kia Sorento models that no longer include a factory CD drive. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with the existing CarPlay interface so the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons control playback. No additional wiring or tools are required for installation. The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box.

Thermals and power draw

The device draws all of its power from the car's USB port, so there is no separate power supply or battery drain beyond the port's normal output. With no internal amplifier or moving parts other than the disc motor, heat generation is minimal during regular CD playback. Operation stays quiet because the only audible sound comes from the disc spinning inside the enclosure.

Sustained load behaviour

After inserting a disc, allow approximately two minutes for the indexing process to complete before expecting full control response. Interrupting this initial index requires restarting the procedure with a different disc and following the printed instructions from step one. Once indexed, the player maintains steady playback through the factory system for extended listening sessions. Not suited for vehicles outside the 2019-2026 Sorento range or for buyers who need Bluetooth streaming or multi-disc changing.
