Pro Star USB CD Player for Kia Soul EV

This external CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Kia Soul EV models that lack a factory unit. It connects through the vehicle's USB port and integrates with Apple CarPlay so the factory radio or steering wheel controls manage playback. The device is powered entirely from the USB connection.

Plug-and-play build with flexible mounting

No extra wiring or tools are required; the cable plugs directly into the car's USB port. The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box or anywhere the cable reaches. Printed instructions are included and the maker stresses allowing two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before use.

Limits of USB-powered CarPlay integration

Operation depends on the vehicle's USB port supplying enough current and on the factory infotainment system supporting CarPlay media control. If indexing is interrupted the process must be restarted from the beginning with a different disc. Compatibility is confined to the stated model years and to vehicles already equipped with CarPlay.

Questions about this item

What USB standard does the CarPlay CD player use, and what does that limit?

The unit draws power and data from the vehicle's USB port, so transfer speed and indexing time depend on that port's output.

Where can the Pro Star CD player be mounted in a 2019-2026 Kia Soul EV?

It can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the USB cable reaches.

What installation step do owners often skip with this CD player?

Wait the full two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before using the controls; interrupting it forces a restart with a new disc.
