Pro Star CarPlay CD Player for Lexus TX Plug

This external USB CD player adds disc playback to 2019-2026 Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid models that lack a factory CD player. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with CarPlay for audio control. The unit is powered entirely through the USB connection, requiring no separate power source or wiring modifications. Drivers can manage playback using the factory radio or steering wheel controls.

Replaces missing factory CD player for CD owners

Automobile manufacturers have stopped including built-in CD players, leaving owners of physical media collections without a playback option. This device restores that capability for drivers who prefer listening to their favourite CDs rather than relying solely on streaming or digital files. The upgrade is worth it when the factory head unit supports USB CarPlay integration but omits a disc drive. It is not for vehicles without a compatible USB port or CarPlay support, or for buyers seeking multi-disc changers or DVD video playback.

Plug-and-play install with critical indexing step

Installation requires only plugging the cable into the vehicle's USB port and following the printed instructions; the unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box. The most common issue occurs when users interrupt the mandatory two-minute CD indexing process before it finishes. If indexing is stopped early, the disc must be ejected, a different CD inserted, and the full setup procedure restarted from step one to avoid persistent errors.

Questions about this item

Where can I mount the Pro Star CD player in my Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid?

The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the USB cable reaches the vehicle's USB port.

What is the most common setup mistake with this USB CD player?

Interrupting the two-minute indexing process before the CD finishes; if stopped early, you must insert a different CD and restart from step one.

Will I need to replace any cables or power adapters for this CD player over time?

The player draws power directly from the car's USB port, so no separate power adapter exists; only the attached USB cable would ever need replacement if damaged.
