Add CD Playback to Mini Countryman

The Pro Star USB CD player adds a single-disc drive to 2019-2026 Mini Countryman models that lack a factory CD slot. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with Apple CarPlay so the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons control playback. The kit includes printed instructions for a straightforward setup process.

Plug-and-Play Installation and Flexible Mounting

No extra wiring or tools are required; the unit draws power from the USB connection itself. The compact drive can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, inside the glove box, or wherever the cable reaches the port. This freedom lets you keep the cabin tidy while retaining easy disc access.

Allow Two Minutes for Disc Indexing

After inserting a CD, wait roughly two minutes for the indexing routine to finish before using the controls. Interrupting this process can cause set-up issues that require restarting the installation steps with a different disc. Once indexed, the drive operates from the car's USB power without an external supply.

Questions about this item

What USB standard does the Pro Star CD player use, and what does it limit?

It plugs into the car's USB port for power and CarPlay data, so the port's own speed and power delivery cap performance.

What physical space and mounting options does the unit need in a Mini Countryman?

It can sit vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the supplied cable reaches the USB port.

How is the player installed, and which step do people often skip?

Plug the cable into the USB port, then wait two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before use; interrupting this step forces a full restart with a different disc.
