Pro Star CarPlay USB CD Player

The Pro Star CarPlay USB CD Player is an external single-disc drive designed for 2019 to 2026 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet models that lack a factory CD player. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port to enable CD playback through the existing infotainment system and CarPlay interface. The unit is powered entirely by the USB connection and allows control via the factory radio or steering wheel buttons.

Plug-and-play installation with indexing delay

Installation requires no additional wiring or tools; the cable simply plugs into the car's USB port and the device can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console or in the glove box. A critical step is allowing two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before use. Interrupting this process requires inserting a different CD and restarting the setup from step one, so patience during initial configuration prevents repeat work.

Verify USB port access and mounting space

Before ordering, confirm your Golf Cabriolet has an accessible USB port that can supply power and data to the player. Ensure the cable length will reach your preferred mounting location on the centre console or in the glove box without strain. Check that the factory radio and steering wheel controls are functional, as they are used to operate the CD playback once the unit is connected.
