Adds a CD player to 2019-2026 Volvo S60 via USB port with CarPlay integration
This external USB CD player adds disc playback to Volvo S60 models from 2019 to 2026 that lack a factory unit. It connects directly to the vehicle's USB port and integrates with the existing CarPlay interface. The device is powered entirely through that USB connection, so no separate power supply or wiring is required. Installation follows the included printed instructions and requires no tools.
The unit draws power from the car's USB port and operates without a cooling fan, so it adds no audible noise to the cabin. Power consumption is limited to what the USB port can provide, keeping the electrical load minimal. Under normal use the player remains at a low temperature because there are no high-draw components inside. The simple USB-powered design avoids additional strain on the vehicle's electrical system.
The player can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, inside the glove box, or anywhere the USB cable reaches. This flexibility lets you place the unit out of sight or within easy reach depending on preference. A printed instruction manual is included and the manufacturer advises allowing two minutes for each CD to finish indexing before use. Interrupting that process means restarting the set-up with a different disc.

Plug the USB cable into the car's USB port, then wait the full two minutes for the CD to finish indexing before using it. Interrupting this step requires restarting the process with a different disc.
The unit has no user-serviceable parts. If the laser mechanism fails or the USB cable is damaged, the entire external CD player would need to be replaced.
The player draws power from the vehicle's USB port, so sustained operation is limited by the port's available current. If the port cannot supply enough power, playback may stop.
