What it is and who it's for

Pro Tapes Gaffers Tape is a black vinyl-impregnated cloth tape with a matte finish. It suits stagehands, photographers and technicians who need a strong, residue-conscious hold on cables, equipment or irregular surfaces. The tape is hand-tearable and comes in a 55-yard roll, offering enough length for extended runs or multiple jobs.

Practical limits of the adhesive system

The high-performance adhesive bonds firmly yet is designed for clean removal on most surfaces. It is waterproof and abrasion resistant, so it holds in damp or high-friction conditions. However, it is not intended for permanent structural bonds or for surfaces where any adhesive residue is unacceptable. Test on a small area first when working with delicate finishes.

Build quality and day-to-day handling

The cloth backing gives high conformability, letting the tape wrap cleanly around curves and uneven profiles without lifting. A smooth, controlled unwind prevents tangling during fast application, and the 21-colour range allows quick visual coding on busy sets. The matte finish reduces glare under stage or studio lights, keeping the tape discreet in shot.
