Purpose-built coloured masking tape

Pro Tapes PRO-46 is a rubber-based crepe paper tape coloured red for coding, labelling, crafting and light-duty holding on smooth surfaces. It suits artists, framers, teachers and office staff who need a visible, removable tape that leaves little residue.

Capacity and headroom

A single roll gives 60 yards of half-inch width, enough for hundreds of hinge joints, colour-coded bundles or decorative borders. The rubber adhesive resists water, solvents and oils, but the tape is not designed for heavy structural bonds, prolonged outdoor exposure or high-temperature masking.

Deciding specification

Meets ASTM D6123/D6123M-07 Type II and conforms to ASTM D-4236, confirming non-toxic composition for art and classroom use. Buyers who require a certified archival or heat-resistant masking tape should verify those separate ratings.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/2 in. width sit flat on the matboard I already use for framing?

The crepe paper backing conforms to smooth surfaces so it hinges prints to matboard without lifting at the edges.

How can I confirm the roll meets the ASTM D6123 Type II standard after I open it?

The tape resists water, solvents and oils while staying flexible — performance that matches the Type II specification.

Does the box contain only the 60 yd roll or are extra cores or dispensers included?

The package supplies the single 1/2 in. x 60 yd red roll; dispensers or additional cores must be purchased separately.
