Portable CD Boom Box with AM/FM
The Proscan PRCD243M-BLUE is a battery-powered CD player that also receives AM and FM radio stations. It plays standard audio CDs and CD-R discs for personal mixes. A 3.5 mm auxiliary input lets you connect phones, tablets or other audio sources. The unit weighs 1.25 kilograms and measures 14.33 inches wide by 12.83 inches high by 9.06 inches deep.
Thermals noise and power
The boom box runs on batteries so it produces no mains hum and generates negligible heat during playback. Two 3.5 inch drivers deliver 1.2 watts RMS per channel for a total of 2.4 watts RMS output. Frequency response spans 100 Hz to 12 kHz. There are no cooling fans or moving parts beyond the CD mechanism, so operation stays quiet.
Bundled accessories and software
The package includes the boom box and a printed manual. No remote control, external power adapter or software discs are supplied. The auxiliary cable for connecting external devices is not included. Buyers who want more output power or Bluetooth streaming will need a different model.

Questions about this item
How do I power the PRCD243M-BLUE for portable use, and what is the common mistake?
Insert the required C-size batteries observing the polarity markings inside the compartment; the step people get wrong is mixing the positive and negative ends, which prevents the unit from turning on.
What maintenance will the CD mechanism need over time?
The laser lens can gather dust, so clean it occasionally with a commercial CD lens cleaner disc; no other user-serviceable parts are inside.
At what volume level does the 2.4 W RMS output reach its limit during extended playback?
The 1.2 W per channel amplifiers will clip and distort when pushed to maximum volume for long periods, especially with bass-heavy material.
