Portable AM FM Radio with USB-C Charging

The PRUNUS J-211 is a compact transistor radio designed for listeners who want simple access to broadcast stations at home or outdoors. It fits in a pocket or clips to a bag, making it practical for daily routines, travel or emergency kits.

Dual Power with 1200mAh Battery and AA Backup

A built-in 1200mAh cell charges via USB-C for regular use, while a side switch lets you insert two AA cells when mains power is unavailable. Reception covers FM 87108 MHz, AM 5201730 kHz and shortwave 3.222 MHz, with a 16-inch antenna and DSP chip reducing noise; the shortwave band is split into two parts for easier tuning in remote areas.

Replaces Single-Source Radios Lacking Shortwave

This unit upgrades from basic AM/FM models that rely on one power source and omit shortwave coverage. The jump is worth it when you need reliable reception across three bands, a built-in flashlight for blackouts and a headphone jack for private listening without carrying a larger device.

Questions about this item

Will the 4.9 in x 1.3 in x 2.8 in PRUNUS J-211 fit on the same shelf as my older tabletop radio?

The J-211 measures 4.9 inches wide, 1.3 inches deep and 2.8 inches high, so it occupies far less space than most vintage tabletop sets and will sit comfortably alongside them on a standard shelf.

How can I confirm the 16-inch antenna and DSP chip are actually pulling in stations cleanly?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully, tune across the FM 87108 MHz and AM 5201730 kHz ranges, and listen for steady audio with low background hiss; the shortwave band at 3.222 MHz should also resolve distant stations clearly when the antenna is raised.

Does the box include the AA cells for backup power or only the built-in 1200mAh pack?

The radio ships with the internal 1200mAh rechargeable battery already fitted and a USB-C cable for charging it; two AA batteries are not supplied and must be purchased separately for the backup power mode.
