What this roller cover does

The Purdy 144644091 is a 9 inch mohair roller cover with a 1/4 inch nap. It is made for painters who need a smooth finish on metal or wood surfaces using oil based paints. The polypropylene core fits standard cage frames and the fabric is designed for high gloss or semi gloss sheen results.

How it holds up during a full job

Mohair fabric resists matting and keeps its texture when rolling out multiple coats of oil based paint. The short nap lays down a thin, even film so the surface stays smooth without stippling. The polypropylene core does not soften when exposed to solvents, so the cover stays round and tracks straight from the first wall to the last.

Fitting it and avoiding common problems

Slide the cover onto any standard cage frame until the core seats fully against the end caps. If the cover spins on the frame, the core is not seated and the edges will leave lines. Clean immediately with the correct solvent for oil based paint; letting the paint dry in the mohair fibres ruins the cover for future use.
