Questions about this item

Does my motherboard need a free PCIe Gen3 x4 slot for this QXG-10G1T card?

Yes, the card uses a PCIe Gen3 x4 connection, so an available slot of that type is required for installation.

Can I keep using my existing Gigabit switch when I add this 10Gbase-T adapter?

The 10Gbase-T port will auto-negotiate down to 1 Gbps, so it works with your current Gigabit switch and cabling.
