QualGear Cat 7 Flat Ethernet Cable

This QualGear Cat 7 flat Ethernet cable provides a wired network link for desktops, laptops, gaming consoles and routers. It uses RJ45 connectors on both ends and supports 10 Gbps data transfer with 600 MHz bandwidth. The six-foot red cable suits home or office runs where a short, high-speed patch lead is required. It is not for buyers who need longer reach or bulk spools for structured wiring.

Installation and common issues

The flat profile lets the cable slide under carpets, along baseboards or through tight gaps without bulky ridges. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and seat firmly in standard RJ45 ports. The triple-shielded construction reduces crosstalk, but sharp bends or heavy foot traffic can still degrade signal integrity over time. Ensure connectors click fully into each port to avoid intermittent link drops.

Category 7 rating and 10 Gbps throughput

The Cat 7 classification and 600 MHz bandwidth are the decisive specifications that guarantee 10 Gbps performance up to 100 m. Oxygen-free copper conductors and full shielding deliver the headroom needed for demanding local traffic. If your network gear only negotiates 1 Gbps, this cable will still operate correctly but will not increase the negotiated speed.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the cable is delivering 10 Gbps after I plug it in?

Connect it between two 10 Gbps-capable ports and run a speed test or check the link speed in your OS network settings; it should report 10 Gbps full duplex.

Does the 6 ft red cable come with any extra hardware or do I need to buy clips separately?

Only the flat Cat 7 patch cable with gold-plated RJ45 connectors on both ends is included; mounting clips or ties are not supplied.

Which length should I choose if I need to run the cable under carpet from the router to a desktop about 5 ft away?

The 6 ft option gives enough slack for routing under carpet and along baseboards without excess cable coiled on the floor.
