QualGear Cat 7 outdoor patch cable

This 50 ft black cable uses Category 7 construction with triple shielding to support data rates up to 10 Gbps at 600 MHz. Gold-plated RJ45 connectors on both ends provide a reliable link for routers, switches, PCs and network-attached storage. The jacket is rated for outdoor exposure and direct burial, so the same cable can run inside walls or across a garden.

Replaces older Cat 5e or Cat 6 runs

When an existing installation cannot sustain multi-gigabit throughput or suffers interference on long runs, stepping up to Cat 7 with 600 MHz bandwidth and full shielding restores headroom. The oxygen-free copper conductors and weatherproof sheath also eliminate the need for separate indoor and outdoor cables on a single path.

Fits standard RJ45 ports without adapters

No special termination tools or keystones are required beyond ordinary Cat 6a-compatible hardware. The UV-resistant jacket survives sunlight and soil contact, freeing conduit space that would otherwise protect a lesser cable. Builders who need a second parallel run or lengths beyond 50 ft should select a different length from the 25 ft to 300 ft range.

Questions about this item

What conduit size fits the 50 ft outdoor Cat 7 cable?

The 50 ft cable uses standard RJ45 connectors that pass through a 3/4 inch conduit; pull the cable gently to avoid kinking the triple-shielded jacket.

How do I install the gold-plated RJ45 ends without damaging the latch?

Press the tab down fully, insert until the click sounds, then tug once to confirm the 99.99 % oxygen-free copper conductors are seated.

When should I replace the UV-resistant jacket on a direct-burial run?

Inspect the black jacket yearly; replace the cable if you see cracking, chalking, or water ingress at the connectors.
