Quest CAT5E Inline Coupler Keystone

This black keystone coupler joins two RJ45 patch cables without splicing or crimping. It fits standard keystone wall plates and patch panels for quick rack or wall installation. The Cat5e rating supports typical Gigabit Ethernet links in home or office networks.

Front and rear RJ45 ports accept pre-terminated

Installers can snap in fixed-length patch cords from either direction, removing the need to punch down wires behind a rack. This reduces termination time and avoids the errors that come with field crimping. The coupler maintains the cable's original performance category across the connection.

Keystone footprint locks into standard plates

The black housing matches common keystone aesthetics and secures with a positive click. No tools are required for mounting once the plate is in place. The inline design keeps cable routing clean on both sides of the panel. Not suited for shielded installations requiring grounded couplers or for Cat6a and higher bandwidth needs.

Questions about this item

Will the RJ45 contacts on this NKJ-5002 keystone coupler need cleaning or replacement after extended use?

The gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and are rated for many insertion cycles; occasional dry contact cleaning with compressed air is sufficient unless physical damage occurs.

What throughput limit appears first when this CAT5E coupler handles continuous network traffic?

The CAT5E rating caps sustained throughput at 1 Gbps; the coupler itself adds negligible loss, so the category ceiling is the first limit reached.

Does the NKJ-5002 generate measurable heat or noise when installed in a patch panel running all day?

As a passive component with no active electronics, it produces zero noise and no measurable heat rise under normal PoE or data loads.
