Quick Dam QD65-2 Water Barrier

The Quick Dam QD65-2 is a water-activated flood barrier designed for homeowners needing rapid protection against low-level water ingress. Each barrier measures five feet long and 3.5 inches high when fully expanded. The pack contains two barriers to cover wider openings such as garage doors or patio thresholds.

Polypropylene Construction Benefits

The polypropylene material absorbs water on contact and swells to form a stable barrier within minutes. This activation method removes the need for sand, fill tools or manual labour during an emergency. The lightweight dry state allows easy storage and quick deployment by a single person.

Questions about this item

How often do the water-activated polypropylene barriers need to be replaced after they swell?

Each barrier is single-use; once the polypropylene absorbs water and expands to block flow, it cannot be dried out and reused, so plan on replacing both units after any flooding event.

What limits how long a deployed barrier can hold back standing water?

The swollen polypropylene fabric will gradually lose tension and may leak if water pressure persists beyond the barrier's design height, so monitor the 3-1/2 inch containment level during sustained flooding.
