Portable World-Band Radio

The RADIWOW D-219 is a compact AM FM shortwave receiver designed for listeners who want worldwide broadcast access in a pocket-sized device. Its 4.92 x 1.1 x 2.95 inch frame weighs 5.362 ounces, making it easy to carry or store for home, travel or emergency use.

Reception Limits and Power Constraints

The telescopic antenna extends 21 inches and rotates 360 degrees to improve signal capture, yet indoor reception still depends on local field strength and building materials. The unit runs on two AA 1.5V batteries or a 5V DC input, neither of which is supplied, so a power source must be sourced separately.

Deciding Specification — Three-Band Coverage

Frequency ranges are 64-108MHz FM, 522-1620kHz AM and 4.75-22.0MHz shortwave, giving access to domestic and international stations in one device. A 3.5mm earphone jack and built-in speaker provide private or shared listening, while the simple three-step tuning suits users who prefer straightforward operation.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the silver D-219 or a different colour?

The product is offered only in silver, so there is no alternative colour to choose.

What stations will the 64-108 MHz FM range actually pull in at home?

It covers the standard FM broadcast band, so you will receive local FM stations and, with the 21 inch rotating antenna, more distant ones indoors.

Does the 3.5 mm earphone jack support stereo headphones?

The jack is a standard 3.5 mm socket for private listening; the radio’s speaker is mono, so audio will be mono through headphones as well.
