Wireless gaming headset with RGB

The Razer Barracuda X Chroma is a lightweight wireless headset that connects through 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth at the same time. It weighs 130 grams and carries 40 mm TriForce drivers with a detachable cardioid microphone. Chroma RGB lighting covers six zones on the earcups with 16.8 million colours.

For hybrid gaming and mobile use

The dual wireless link lets PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 or Switch 2 users swap to a phone with one toggle, making it practical for gaming sessions and daily commutes. Buyers who need active noise cancellation or a wired analogue connection should look elsewhere. The 70-hour battery and 15-minute quick charge support long stretches away from a charger.

70-hour battery with quick charge

A full charge delivers 70 hours of playtime and a 15-minute top-up adds roughly six hours. This single figure determines whether the headset lasts through multi-day trips without a cable.

Questions about this item

How do I switch between the 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth on this headset?

Use the SmartSwitch toggle on the earcup to change instantly between the 2.4 GHz USB-C dongle for PC, Mac, PS5 or Switch 2 and a paired Bluetooth phone without repairing.

Which parts of the Barracuda X Chroma will wear out first and need replacement?

The breathable memory-foam ear cushions and the detachable HyperClear cardioid microphone are the only user-replaceable components; the internal lithium-ion battery is not user-serviceable.

At what point does the RGB lighting cut into the 70-hour battery claim?

The 70-hour figure is measured with lighting off; enabling the 6-zone Chroma RGB across 16.8 million colours reduces runtime, and a 15-minute charge restores roughly 6 hours of use.
