Lightweight Wired USB Headset

The Razer Kraken V3 X is a wired USB gaming headset weighing 285 grams. It connects through a USB Type A plug with a cord length of 82.74 units. The headset uses 40 millimeter Triforce drivers with a frequency response up to 28000 hertz and an impedance of 32 ohm. It is built for PC gamers who want a light, tethered audio solution.

Sustained Comfort and Audio Delivery

Hybrid fabric and memory foam ear cushions combine breathable fabric with plush leatherette to reduce clamping force and heat build-up during long sessions. Thicker headband cushions improve weight distribution so the 285 gram frame remains comfortable over marathon periods. Passive noise cancellation blocks ambient sound without active circuitry that could degrade over time. The bendable HyperClear cardioid microphone maintains a consistent sweet spot for voice pickup throughout extended use.

Windows 7.1 Surround and Chroma Limits

Virtual 7.1 surround sound functions only on Windows 10 64-bit, so users on other operating systems receive stereo output. Razer Chroma RGB lighting offers 16.8 million colours and effect synchronisation through Razer Synapse software. The USB Type A interface carries both audio and lighting power, removing the need for separate audio jacks. No wireless or Bluetooth capability is present.

Questions about this item

How much power does the USB Type A connector draw when the headset runs all day?

The headset draws power directly from the USB Type A port; no external power supply is needed for the 40 mm drivers, 7.1 surround processing or Chroma RGB lighting.

What operating system and port are required for the 7.1 surround sound and Chroma RGB features?

7.1 surround sound works only on Windows 10 64-bit; Chroma RGB lighting and all audio features require an available USB Type A port.

Will the 32 ohm impedance and USB connection work with an older motherboard that only has USB 2.0 headers?

Yes — the USB Type A connector is compatible with USB 2.0 ports, and the 32 ohm impedance is driven entirely by the headset’s built-in USB audio controller.
