Adds a 3.5 mm TRRS headset port with 48 KHz audio to USB devices, driver-free and compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, PS4 and PS5
This USB-A to 3.5 mm TRRS adapter adds a combined headphone and mono microphone port to devices that lack a native audio jack. It is aimed at laptop, desktop, PS4, PS5, Mac and Linux users who need a simple wired headset connection. The adapter draws power and audio from the USB port and requires no driver installation on supported systems. It does not work with PS3 or with Apple EarPods inline microphone and volume controls.
The built-in smart DAC chip handles 48 kHz decoding and shields the signal from current interference, delivering clearer output than a basic passive dongle. A nylon-braided cable and aluminium shell improve durability for frequent plugging and transport. Volume and playback controls on most headsets function normally, while Apple EarPods controls are limited to play/pause only. System recognition occurs within seconds on Windows, macOS 10.2+, Linux and Chrome OS.
The adapter provides one 3.5 mm TRRS female socket for a CTIA-standard headset, supporting stereo playback and mono microphone input. It cannot accept separate TRS headphone and microphone plugs, nor can it drive multiple audio devices simultaneously. The four-inch cable keeps the dongle close to the host port, which suits desktop and console setups but may be short for routing behind a tower. Audio flows only from USB to the 3.5 mm jack; there is no line-level input or digital output capability.

The adapter uses a single-piece nylon-braided cable and an integrated 3.5 mm TRRS female port; there are no user-serviceable parts, so normal wear would require replacing the whole unit.
The adapter is powered entirely by the USB-A port and runs a smart DAC chip at 48 KHz; with no active cooling, extended sessions are limited only by the host device’s USB power budget.
The aluminium shell dissipates the small amount of heat from the DAC, and the device has no moving parts, so it remains silent and only warm to the touch during continuous operation.
