What this adapter does

This two-pack provides a USB-A to 3.5 mm TRRS female port so you can plug a 4-pole CTIA headset into a computer or console that lacks a native combo jack. It handles stereo output and microphone input simultaneously for gaming, calls or basic recording.

Check before you buy

Your headset must use a single 3.5 mm TRRS plug; separate headphone and microphone jacks will not work. The host device needs a standard USB-A port that carries audio — PS3 USB ports do not, and some monitors require an upstream USB link to the PC. On Windows or Mac you may need to select the adapter as the default audio device in sound settings.

Build and daily use

An aluminium-alloy shell and nylon-braided cable survive repeated bending — the supplier cites 20000 bend cycles — so the dongle tolerates backpack travel and desk movement. The male USB-A connector plugs directly into the host; no extra power or drivers are required, and the compact form leaves adjacent ports accessible.

Questions about this item

Does the 2-pack include two complete USB-to-3.5 mm TRRS adapters or just one adapter with spare cables?

The pack contains two separate USB-A to 3.5 mm TRRS adapters, each with its own aluminium-alloy shell and nylon-braided cable.

Both adapters in the 2-pack are identical — is there any reason to choose one over the other?

They are identical; each supports 48 KHz stereo, CTIA-standard TRRS headsets, and works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chromebook, PS4 and PS5.

What does the 48 KHz figure mean when I plug the adapter into my laptop?

It is the maximum digital sampling rate the built-in DAC can process, so system audio is converted at up to 48 KHz stereo for headphones or a headset.
