Hardwood Floor Protection

The Regency CMH3648CL is a clear chair mat sized 36 by 48 inches and 2.2 mm thick. It is made for hardwood floors and uses a gripper backing to stay in place. A lip extends under the desk edge for extra coverage. The mat is new and designed for daily office chair use.

Home and Light Office Users

This mat suits people who want to protect hardwood from caster wear without a bulky pad. It works on flat, clean hardwood and the gripper texture resists sliding. Buyers with thick pile carpet or uneven tile should look elsewhere because the grippers need a smooth, hard surface to hold. The lip helps but will not bridge large floor gaps.

Simple Unroll and Flatten

Setup asks you to unroll the mat, let it rest at room temperature for 24 hours, then weigh the corners down for another 48 hours. The material relaxes flat during that time. Problems usually come from skipping the wait or placing it on a cold floor, which leaves curled edges that catch wheels. Follow the two-step rest and the mat lies flat.

Questions about this item

What floor type must I already have for the Gripper CMH3648CL to grip properly?

The mat is designed for hardwood floors; its gripper backing works on that surface without sliding.

Will the 2.2 mm thickness and 36 x 48 cm size let my existing chair casters roll smoothly?

Yes, the 2.2 mm profile provides a stable, low-friction surface that standard office casters roll across easily.

How can I confirm the mat is fully flattened and ready after the 24-hour rest and 48-hour weighting?

When the corners stay flat without lifting and the chair rolls without catching, the mat has settled correctly.
