Reolink RLC-510A 5MP PoE bullet network camera

The Reolink RLC-510A is a 5MP bullet network camera designed for outdoor or indoor surveillance. It captures 2560x1920 resolution video and uses Power over Ethernet for a single-cable installation. Smart detection distinguishes people and vehicles to reduce unwanted alerts. A built-in microphone adds audio recording to the visual feed.

Check PoE infrastructure and NVR hardware version

Verify that your network switch or injector supports IEEE 802.3af 48V Active PoE to power the camera without a separate adapter. If you plan to use a Reolink NVR, confirm its hardware version is N2MB02, H3MB18 or N3MB01 for full smart detection and playback support. Third-party software such as Blue Iris or Synology may work but full compatibility is only ensured with Reolink systems. Ensure a MicroSD card up to 256GB is available if you want local storage.

Metal IP66 housing with fixed 4.0mm lens

The white metal body meets IP66 waterproof rating for durable outdoor mounting. A fixed 4.0mm lens with F2.0 aperture provides an 80° horizontal and 42° vertical field of view. Eighteen 850nm IR LEDs deliver night vision up to 30 metres. The single RJ45 connector handles both data and power, simplifying cable runs for DIY installation.

Questions about this item

Does the Reolink RLC-510A box include a power adapter or do I need to buy one separately?

The camera is powered through the Ethernet cable using IEEE 802.3af PoE so no separate power adapter is required; a DC 12.0V adapter is listed as optional but not included.

Which storage capacity should I choose for the microSD slot on the RLC-510A?

The slot accepts cards up to 256GB; pick a capacity that matches how many days of 5MP footage you want to keep before the oldest files are overwritten.

What does the 5MP 2560x1920 resolution actually deliver when the camera is mounted under the eaves?

You get a horizontal field of view of 80° and vertical 42° at 5.0 megapixels, with infrared night vision reaching 30 metres using 18 LEDs at 850nm.
